As our first dedicated Payroll Advisor, you’ll have the unique opportunity to build and develop our payroll services while working with interesting growth companies. In the role of Payroll Advisor, you will take on a diverse and impactful position, focusing on delivering high-quality payroll services to our clients. You will play a key role in process development, both internally and for our clients, while also acting as a subject matter expert in payroll-related topics. From handling payroll from start to finish to providing expert consultation, your expertise will be essential in shaping our payroll operations in Norway.
In this role, you will:
- Work as an independent payroll advisor, supporting new and exciting growth companies
- Manage the entire payroll process for multiple clients, from data entry to payroll calculations and payments
- Ensure compliance with statutory and client-specific reporting requirements
- Consult and support clients with complex payroll issues, acting as a trusted advisor
- Communicate with external customers and partners, delivering excellent service
- Develop and document payroll processes and create instructions for efficient payroll delivery
- Take an active role in improving ways of working, automation, and payroll-related processes
You will be the first dedicated Payroll professional in our Norwegian team, joining a local group of eight accountants and one Service Manager. However, you will also have the support of our wider payroll team across Sweden and Finland.

Keys to success in this role
For this position, we are looking for candidates located in Norway and we’re open to hiring remotely or in Stavanger and/or Oslo. To succeed in this position, we believe that you have:
- Extensive experience managing the whole payroll process across various industries, systems, and collective agreements.
- Deep knowledge of Norwegian payroll regulations, including employment law, holidays, working hours, pensions, and taxation.
- Ability to handle complex payroll cases, such as international payroll situations and special agreements.
- Strong consultative and customer service skills, with the ability to connect details to the bigger picture.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, thriving in an international, and consulting-driven environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all payroll processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, as you will work closely with several clients and colleagues.
- Fluency in Norwegian and English (additional language skills are a plus).
- Skills in Unimicro are considered a plus, as this will be the payroll system in use.
